The crystal structure is tetragonal, composed of closely packed oxygen ions coordinated with titanium ions in octahedral sites, with a certain amount of unsaturated coordination sites on the surface. It appears as a white to light yellow powder (or a uniformly dispersed solution), exhibiting high chemical stability (resistant to acids and alkalis), non-toxicity, and environmental friendliness.
