The rapid development of miniaturization and wearable electronic devices has stimulated the growing demand for small energy storage components. Due to the advantages of infinite life and high power density, micro supercapacitors MSCs are considered to be very promising solutions. But their large-scale production often depends on the choice of electrode materials and manufacturing processes. In recent years, a new class of two-dimensional transition metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides  (MXenes) have emerged . With their high plutonium capacitance, metal conductivity, and easy solution processing characteristics, they have advanced The field of miniature supercapacitors shows great potential.

Achievements

   Recently, Rice University ‘s Chuan Xia Dr. and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology of Husam N. Alshareef professor in the internationally renowned journal Energy Storage Materials published entitled "Review of MXene electrochemical microsupercapacitors" papers. The research progress in synthesis, microstructure design and application of MXene in recent years is reviewed The preparation strategy of MXene micro supercapacitors is discussed , and its electrochemical performance is summarized. In addition, it briefly discussed the technical challenges and future development directions.

in conclusion

Miniature supercapacitors are a promising energy storage solution for small electronic and wireless sensor networks. However, for practical applications, achieving ultra-high energy and power density in a given area remains challenging. Compared with other electrode materials, MXene shows broad application prospects in MSCs devices. Many advanced technologies have made significant progress in the manufacture of MXene MSCs ; however, it should also be noted that MXene MSCs are still in their infancy, and further development and equipment optimization are needed.
