The water-soluble fluorescent quantum dots have an average particle diameter of 8 nm. It has good dispersibility in water, adjustable fluorescence emission spectrum, good biocompatibility, stable optical properties, and a narrow and symmetrical emission band. Its chemical and optical stability is enhanced by a special semiconductor coating. The surface modification can obtain a functional group covering the carboxyl group and the amino group, and is facilitated by coupling with biological macromolecules such as accounting and protein through the action of the crosslinking agent.
