Angew: Metallized graphyne as a new type of optically functional 2D organometallic nanosheets

source:beike new material Views:3977time:2021-03-02 QQ Academic Group: 1092348845

Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials have attracted much attention due to their excellent electrical and optical properties.

Recently, Professor Huang Weiyang of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Associate Researcher Xie Zheng of the Institute of Science and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Wang Zhengping of Shandong University reported for the first time the use of the interface-assisted bottom-up method, combining the advantages of metal centers and graphyne, and successfully prepared two Free-standing amalgamated graphyne nanosheets (MGONs).

The main points of the article

1) Researchers synthesized MGOs (HgL1 and HgL2) by base-catalyzed dehydrohalogenation of two ligands, tris(4-ethynylphenyl)amine (L1) and 1,3,5-triethynylbenzene (L2).

2) The continuous large-area nanosheets obtained by chemical growth have layered molecular structure arrangement, controllable thickness and enhanced π-conjugation, which leads to their stable and prominent broadband nonlinear saturable absorption (SA) characteristics ( At 532 nm and 1064 nm).

3) Based on adjusting the behavior and structure of SA by controlling the concentration and type of ligands (L1 and L2), these two nanosheets are used as saturable absorbers to achieve passive Q-switching (PQS) characteristics at a wavelength of 1064 nm. Among them, the PQS performance of HgL1 nanosheets is comparable to or higher than the most advanced two-dimensional nanomaterials (such as graphene, black phosphorus, MoS2, γ-graphyne, etc.). The HgL2 nanosheets even show better pulse performance, such as larger single pulse energy (0.541 μJ) and higher peak power (1.23W).

The research results show that the two metalized graphynes are not only a new type of 2D carbon-rich material, but also can be used as cheap and easily available materials for manufacturing optoelectronic devices.
